I don't care about ethics, France needs Benzema – Cisse
Former France international Djibril Cisse has stated that he doesn't care about the ethics involved in Karim Benzema's off-pitch controversies as he feels it is imperative the striker represents his country at Euro 2016.
Benzema has been the focal point of a blackmail scandal involving a
sex tape which features Les Bleus team-mate Mathieu Valnbuena, but Cisse
feels the Real Madrid man's participation at the summer showpiece event
is imperative.
“The ethical problem? I don't care!” Cisse told Public. “The issue isn't resolved but it would be a bad idea to not bring Benzema.
“He walks on water on the field and Les Bleus need him.”
Regarding his own future, the veteran hitman has been without a club
since 2015, though refused to rule out a return to the game.
“There is a chance I could play again,” he added. “The club of my
heart has always been Marseille, but at 35 [sic] I don't think I'm in
their plans.
