ON THE WAY OUT: Raphael Honigstein thinks Bayern Munich want to offload Mario Gotze
German football expert: Bayern Munich want to sell Gotze as Liverpool and Arsenal circle
BAYERN MUNICH are looking to offload Mario Gotze this summer, German football expert Raphael Honigstein believes.
The Bavarian giants have offered new contracts to a number of their star players but there have been no negotiations with Gotze, despite his present deal expiring next summer.
And Honigstein thinks that is a clear sign that the 23-year-old's future lies elsewhere.
“I think he needs a new start," Honigstein told ESPN.
"Bayern, recently, renewed a lot of player’s contracts, but they didn’t say anything to Gotze.
"I doubt if they want him to stay, it’s a strong signal, and I think they want to offload him.”
The duo worked together for four years at Borussia Dortmund before Gotze left for Bayern in 2013.
But reports this week have suggested and could look to tempt the midfielder to London when the transfer window reopens.
